State Fair …. Wonderful memories – Questionable future?

The Milwaukee Metropolitan area was an incredibly place to live, work, and play.  What is going on; what is driving the change?

To our brother law enforcement officers injured by the actions of the out-of-control mob, may God Bless and oversee your speedy recovery.  You are true warriors of peace, as we all have witnessed your professionalism.  The officers of the Fair and those that responded in support all answered the call and performed as well as their limited numbers would allow.  If not for your bravery and willingness to enter the fight many others could have been injured.

Last night represented a proud day for the individual actions of those sworn to protect and serve - - for our leadership maybe not so much.  As we continue to allow our numbers to diminish and abandon the investigative avenues that reveal these thugs, these gang-like driven groups, we create the environment that fosters these conditions.  It is time for truth.  Crime is not down simply because we say it is and it is certainly not down just because it goes unreported and/or uninvestigated.

It is not too late for this great corner of the world, but we must act.  We must insist that our officers have the resources they need in-order to properly serve; most importantly, it is time to insist that there are enough officers in place to complete the mission.  As we continue to operate between 100 and 200 officers below our authorized strength and nearly fifty detectives below the needed and approved number – we then contribute to the problem of our neighbors.

May our Peace Warriors remain strong and undaunted, while the predators of society are banished from this place.
